The Offroad Connection: 205-841-JEEP _____________________ No Campfires are allowed at Gray Rock. The Alabama Department of Environmental Management has issued a burning ban for 12 counties including Jefferson County. "The ban, effective from May through October, is more extensive than in previous years, adding the month of October and four counties . It covers Baldwin, Jefferson, Lawrence, Madison, Mobile, Montgomery, Morgan and Shelby counties, as well as the four new counties: DeKalb, Etowah, Russell and Talladega. The ban prohibits open burning of wood, tree trimmings, brush and debris from construction, demolition or land clearing. "______________________ Gray Rock's Forums are up!
Gray Rock ORV failed in getting the zoning request before the Jefferson County Zoning Adjustments Board The Zoning Board has five members. It requires three yes votes to pass. One was absent. One knew Tony very well, so he recused himself. That left three members of the Zoning Board that could vote. Two voted yes and one voted no. So even though he had a majority, the zoning variance was voted down. Thanks to all who sent letters. As the next step is a legal (rather than political), it will be based on law so emails and letters will not be needed. As of now, all events are still on. ____________________________________________ The Kingsley Rule This is
not a new rule to Gray Rock by any means, more of an update of the
rule. "No one shall die for that reason again." Kingsley Howell
